From 2017 to 2019 we delivered new Integrated Operating Theatres on behalf of Arthrex for the Vienna Based Vinzenz Hospital Group for a total of 5 Hospitals.
This culminated in a special Open Door Event, where the public was invited to see the newly refurbished an some completely new built facilities.
At the Orthoipadische Spital in Speising, we hosted a 4K live surgery.
For this event we installed a brand new Barco F90 – 4K projector in the Professor Spitzy auditorium, which is in the centre of the “Gesundheits Park” – helth park, between the Day surgery Clinic and the Main Operating theatres.
We transmitted 4K uncompressed live images over Fibre optics from endoscopic, navigation systems, coom cameras and x-ray. The event also feature bi-dirctional audio.
It was a huge success and the hospital subsequently decided to install the 4K project permanently into their auditorium.
But as always, it’s not what we have to say about this, but the customer.

The image quality, thanks to the 4K projector you provided (!!), was really outstanding. You could admire a detailed, razor-sharp image from the operating room from the stairs to the Spitzy Auditorium.
As soon as we have our own 4K projector, we will be technically well equipped in-house for live operating room broadcasts in 4K quality.
This should also save our hospital a lot of rental costs for external companies in the future.
